You don’t need a reason to write about the internationally acclaimed Greek artist Jannis Kounellis.
Below is a brief glance at his life and artistic career from an interview I did in 2004 with the artist himself and with some of his closest friends.
Frank G. Carpenter, journalist, author, photographer, and world traveler, was born in Mansfield, Ohio in 1855. Following his graduation from the University of Wooster in Ohio in 1877, Carpenter began working for the Cleveland Leader and in 1882 he became the Washington, D.C. correspondent for that newspaper and had a regular column entitled “Carp’s Washington.”
People often ask me, what are your favorite cities in the world. I undoubtedly answer with two cities you rarely hear mentioned as “favorites” – Athens, Greece and Los Angeles, California.
